Women's Swimming and Diving Finishes Fifth at First-Ever NE10 Championships
Purple Knights finish four-day event with 486.5 total points, placing ahead of Adelphi, Staten Island, Saint Michael’s and Assumption.

WORCESTER, Mass. – Capping off their first-ever Northeast 10 Conference Championships on Sunday night, the University of Bridgeport's women's swimming and diving squad maintained their fifth-place position in the team standings. The Purple Knights finished the four-day event with 486.5 total points, placing ahead of Adelphi, Staten Island, Saint Michael's and Assumption.
UB continued its strong weekend showing with several scoring performances on Sunday night. Patricia Torviso opened the night in the 1650-free, placing seventh with a time of 18:23.32 to add valuable team points.
In the 200-back, Hazel Clark secured an eighth-place finish after touching the wall in 2:15.97.
Ceyda Genç followed with a sixth-place showing in the 100-free, clocking in at 53.71.
Bridgeport had a tight grouping in the 200-breast, where Pierina Ferraresi placed 10th in 2:30.49, just ahead of Cristal Margarita Gómez Rodriguez, who finished 11th in 2:30.50 in a near-identical effort.
Anna Forlani delivered one of the team's top performances of the session in the 200-fly, placing fourth overall with a strong swim of 2:07.82.
The night concluded with the 400-free relay, as Genç, Forlani, Clark, and Luca Olsen combined for a fourth-place finish in 3:34.77.
