Rywolt of Women's Wrestling Competes at Prestigious Midlands Championships
Sophomore went 1-2 in the 124-pound bracket.
EVANSTON, Ill. – After earning an invite to the prestigious Ken Kraft Midlands Championships held at Northwestern University, sophomore Lindsey Rywolt of the University of Bridgeport's women's wrestling team went 1-2 inside the 124-pound bracket on Tuesday.
Rywolt, who was ranked No. 20 in the country earlier this month, opened her day with a pin over the No. 7 seed, Natasha Markoutsis, of Aurora University. She was then defeated by second-seeded Madilyn Peach (unattached) via pinfall before dropping a tech fall to sixth-seeded Mateah Roehl (unattached).
Rywolt closes out the calendar year with an overall record of 15-3, which features a pair of first-place finishes and a fifth-place showing.
