Volleyball Outlasts Holy Family to Claim 2025 CACC Championship
Purple Knights earn second conference title in three years; Hailey Jessen named Tournament MVP.

WILMINGTON, Del. – Led by a career-high 28 kills from Tournament MVP Hailey Jessen, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team claimed the 2025 CACC Championship on Sunday with a 3-2 win (25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-9) over Holy Family. The Purple Knights, who have now won five straight matches, earn their second conference title in three years.
Jessen, named CACC Championship MVP for the second time in her career (also in 2023), backed up her massive kill total with 15 digs. Across UB's three postseason victories, she averaged 5.3 kills and 3.1 digs per set while hitting .295.
Jessen was joined on the CACC All-Tournament Team by Lucia Tomiello, Madison Mohan, and Camdyn Cieszkiewicz, each of whom delivered standout performances on Sunday.
Cieszkiewicz masterfully directed the offense, posting a season-high 59 assists to go along with 11 digs and three block assists. She finished UB's postseason run averaging a terrific 12.1 assists per set.
Mohan matched her season best with 17 kills on a .311 hitting percentage and added a season-high eight digs; she has now reached at least 12 kills in five of UB's last six matches.
Rounding out UB's All-Tournament honorees, Tomiello contributed seven kills, three blocks, and two aces, following up her semifinal showing of 13 kills on a CACC Tournament-record hitting percentage (.867).
Freshman Cecilia Kowalski emerged as UB's most efficient attacker and leading defender against Holy Family. The Michigan native delivered eight kills on a team-best .615 hitting percentage and complemented her offense with a season-high seven blocks.
Elaine DeLallo and Ella Bowman also contributed nicely for UB in the final. DeLallo finished with a team-high 19 digs while Bowman led the squad with four aces.
UP NEXT
The Purple Knights will compete in the NCAA East Regional for the third time since 2019. UB will learn its fate during Monday night's NCAA DII Volleyball Selection Show.
