Volleyball Falls in Four Sets at Queens
Purple Knights entered the night on a two-match winning streak.
FLUSHING, N.Y. – Continuing a busy three-match stretch this week, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team was defeated in four sets (25-17, 12-25, 20-25, 26-28) at Queens College on Thursday night. The loss snaps a two-match winning streak for UB.
Junior Hailey Jessen once again piloted the Purple Knights with a team-high 17 kills to go along with 10 digs and four blocks. The Colorado native has now posted six double-doubles this season while currently ranked fourth in the CACC in kills per set (3.23).
Freshman Madison Mohan also reached double figures in the kills department with 11. She ranks second on UB in kills per set this season.
Senior Lucia Tomiello did a little bit of everything for Bridgeport courtesy of four kills, five digs, three aces and three blocks while freshman Cecilia Kowalski hit a team-best .556 with six kills on nine swings.
Another rookie, Camdyn Cieszkiewicz, directed the offense with a team-high 32 assists in addition to seven digs and a pair of kills.
On the digs side of things, junior Elaine DeLallo once again led the Purple Knights with 20. She has reached at least 20 digs in three of UB's last four matches.
As a team, the Purple Knights hit .113 and finished with nine service aces and nine total blocks.

The Purple Knights will complete their three-match week on Saturday with a home contest against Jefferson (2 p.m.).
