BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing their third conference contest of the season, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team dropped a four-set match (16-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-27) to Post University on Wednesday night. The loss puts the Purple Knights at 1-2 in the CACC this year.
UB was led offensively by Hailey Jessen, who tallied team-highs in both kills (12) and aces (6). She also registered 12 digs to earn her fourth double-double of the season.
Senior Lucia Tomiello and freshman Madison Mohan joined the attack with eight kills apiece. Tomiello did so with a team-best .412 hitting percentage while also notching four blocks.
Freshman Cecilia Kowalski finished with four blocks as well to go along with six kills. Classmate Layla Wood rounded out UB's kill leaders with a season-best seven of them.
On the passing front, it was another rookie Camdyn Cieszkiewicz leading the way with 31 assists. She also picked up 10 digs to secure her first career double-double.
Junior Elaine DeLallo directed UB's defensive efforts with a team-best 23 digs. She also dished out four assists.
