Women's Lacrosse Drops Non-Conference Affair to Saint Michael's
Purple Knights unable to hold on to 5-4 halftime lead, end up with eight goals from six different players.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing their final non-conference game of the 2026 season, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team endured a 14-8 setback against Saint Michael's College on Thursday at Knights Field. The loss shifts the Purple Knights' overall record to 5-4 overall while they remain at 2-2 in the CACC.
Despite taking a 5-4 lead into halftime, UB was outscored 10-2 over the final 30 minutes as the visitors pulled away in the second half.
The Purple Knights opened the game with early momentum, jumping out to a 3-1 lead and later reclaiming control late in the second quarter on free-position goals from Payton Noack and Dani Strong.
It was a historic afternoon for senior Tara Dimaio, who became the program's all-time leader in ground balls with 168 and counting while also tying the program record for career points with 215, matching Courtney Forry ('19).
Offensively, Noack and Elizabeth Pitts paced Bridgeport with two goals apiece, while Noack also added an assist and a game-high nine draw controls.
Noack now leads the CACC in draw controls per game (5.44) this season.
Dani Strong, Cassidy Dalton, Emily Stuart and Dimaio each added a goal, while Evelyn Edwards dished out a team-best two assists.
Defensively, Katlyn Strong and Kaley Maxwell anchored the effort with three caused turnovers apiece while goalkeeper Juliana Reyes finished with nine stops in net.
