Men's Outdoor Track and Field Earns CACC’s Academic Award for Highest Team GPA
Purple Knights post league-best 3.31 GPA during 2024-25 school year.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In recognition of a sensational year in the classroom, the University of Bridgeport's men's outdoor track and field squad has earned the CACC's 2024-25 Team Academic Award as announced by the conference on Thursday.
The Purple Knights earn the yearly honor due to having the highest team GPA in the CACC this year with a mark of 3.31. UB men's track and field recently had nine members named to the CACC's Spring 2025 Academic Honor Roll.
Sophomore Nick Migliarese was especially stellar in the classroom this year as he made his way onto both the CACC All-Academic and CSC Academic All-District teams.
"The CACC Team GPA Award demonstrates a commitment to academic success across a team's entire roster," Mara said. "The award illustrates a coach's commitment to their student-athletes performing well in the classroom and the team's upper-class leadership mentoring the underclassmen to make sure they are committed to their studies."
League-wide, 80.1 percent of teams (129 of 161) that met NCAA sport-sponsorship standards produced a GPA of 3.00 or better for the 2024-25 campaign.
