BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In honor of another excellent semester in the classroom, 190 student-athletes from the University of Bridgeport earned recognition on the CACC's Spring 2025 Academic Honor Roll announced by the conference on Wednesday.
UB upped its total from last spring by 20 student-athletes while the entire department finished this past semester with a collective GPA of 3.35.
The 190 Purple Knights denotes approximately 76.6% percent of UB's total student-athlete population (CACC sponsored sports). Bridgeport's women's soccer squad led the way with 31 total honorees while also boasting the most 4.0 GPAs with 12.
In addition to the totality of student-athletes honored, the CACC Academic Honor Roll is separated into three distinctions based on individual grade-point average: UB had 40 student-athletes tally perfect 4.0 GPAs (FAR Award of Distinction), 92 earn Presidents' Level status (3.5-3.99 GPA) and 63 nab Commissioner's Level honors (3.0-3.49 GPA).
Overall, 2.353 student-athletes from the CACC were recognized on the conference's Academic Honor Roll for spring 2025.
"The high number of student-athletes on the CACC Academic Honor Roll illustrates their dedication in the classroom while balancing a demanding schedule of practices and games," CACC Commissioner Dan Mara said. "Each of the CACC member schools does an outstanding job in stressing the importance of being a standout in the classroom just as much as being a standout in their respective sport."
