Beatrix and Cakurs Voted to United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Second Team
Duo collects second All-Region honors of the fall after helping the Purple Knights to historic 2025 campaign.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Senior Bruno Cakurs and graduate student Enzo Beatrix of the University of Bridgeport's men's soccer team continue to earn recognition for helping the Purple Knights secure their first conference title since 2001 and first NCAA Tournament win since 1990, as both were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Second Team on Tuesday.
Cakurs nabs his second All-Region accolade this fall for his leadership of a superb UB defense during the 2025 season. The CACC Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-Conference standout started 21 matches, helping the Purple Knights limit opponents to just 0.90 goals per game in league action. With him directing the back line, UB held foes to one goal or fewer in 14 contests and posted four clean sheets.
Cakurs' impact reached well beyond the 2025 season, concluding a four-year career that featured 58 starts and 71 total appearances. His steady presence and defensive poise cements him as one of UB's best players in recent memory.
Beatrix collects his fourth career All-Region accolade after delivering another impressive campaign for the Purple Knights. The repeat CACC first-team All-Conference honoree was one of only two UB players to start all 22 contests. He finished tied for the team lead with 17 points and topped the roster with seven assists.
Beatrix raised his level in the postseason, earning CACC Tournament MVP honors after producing a goal and two assists during UB's championship run. The France native added yet another assist in the Purple Knights' 2-1 NCAA Tournament victory over Post to cap off a sensational two-year UB career.
