Prieditis of Men's Soccer Named CACC Rookie of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following his first two games in a Purple Knights' jersey, freshman Kristians Prieditis of the University of Bridgeport's men's soccer team has been selected as the CACC's Rookie of the Week.

Prieditis' first collegiate accolade comes after being at the forefront of UB's 2-2 draw at SCSU on Sunday afternoon. The native of Latvia hammered a header into the back of the net in the 89^th minute that cut the Owls' lead to 2-1. Less than a minute later, senior Kaanturk Akgul put in a dramatic equalizer that ultimately supplied the Purple Knights with a point.

Prieditis, Akgul and the rest of the men's soccer squad will return to action on Saturday (Sept. 13) at Mercy (Noon).
