BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - For the second time this season, senior Luca Runyan of the University of Bridgeport's men's lacrosse team has been selected to the USILA's National Team of the Week, having previously earned the recognition on April 2.
Runyan, who was named as the CACC's Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, posted a sensational two games during UB's undefeated stretch last week. The Long Islander piled up a team-high 10 caused turnovers to go along with 11 ground balls in wins over STAC and Holy Family. He notched seven of those CTs during UB's conference victory against the Tigers on Saturday. Runyan, who added an assist in each contest as well, is now ranked fourth in the CACC this season in caused turnovers per game.
Runyan and the rest of UB's men's lacrosse team will return to action on Saturday night against Dominican (6:30 p.m.). It will be Senior Day at Knights Field.
