Kenney and Cisse Selected as UB's Purple Knights of the Week (Feb. 10-16)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following marvelous performances across a trio of competitions last week, Abby Kenney of the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team and Aliou Cisse of the men's basketball squad have been named UB's Purple Knights of the Week, for the week ending Feb. 16.

Kenney was once again at the forefront of a Bridgeport victory last Friday night. The junior placed first in a trio of events against Long Island University en route to her highest all-around score of the season (39.075). Kenney's top mark against the Sharks came on floor courtesy of a 9.800. She also earned top billing on vault (9.775 – season high) and bars (9.725) while placing second on beam (9.775).

Cisse, who was selected as the CACC's Player of the Week on Monday, put forth a pair of excellent efforts last week. The Yonkers, N.Y. native averaged 25.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals while shooting nearly 60-percent from the field (20-of-34). He was especially terrific in a mid-week win over Caldwell when he poured in 27 points on 11-of-15 shooting. Cisse is currently ranked second in the CACC in scoring (20.4 ppg) and seventh in field-goal percentage (54.3%).
