Hopkinton, N.H. – The University of Bridgeport women's cross country team took part in the 2023 NCAA DII East Regional Championships Saturday afternoon. They finished in 15th place out of 21 teams. Southern Connecticut State University was crowned this year's Women DII East Regional Champions, finishing with a team score of 58 points.

Bridgeport's top finisher was Emilia Russell (So., Kingston, U.K.) as she finished the 6k race in a time of 27:12.28 and coming in 94th place.

Emily Stuart (Fr., Rising Sun, Md.) also ran a solid race, finishing the New Hampshire course in a time of 30:00.93.

The Purple Knights team finished with a combined time of 2:36:37 and totaled 465 points in their first appearance at a NCAA Regional as a team.
