Old Westbury, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport cross country teams competed at the NYIT Invitational on Saturday afternoon on Long Island. The UB men finished in fifteenth place on the day; while the Bridgeport women came in sixteenth place.
Ashley Arroyo (Sr, Hamden, Conn.) topped the standings on the morning for the Bridgeport women taking 69th scoring place in a time of 24:57.89 over the 5K course.
On the men's side, freshman Ashani Dunkin (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was the top finisher for the Purple Knights covering the 8K course in a time of 26:27.11, which place him in scoring spot number 54.
Next up for the Bridgeport cross country teams will be a trip to New York City, and the York (N.Y.) College Invitational on Sunday, September 22.
