XC Squads Compete In Fairfield's Father Leeber Invitational
Women Take Fifth Place And Men Finish Fourth On The Day
Fairfield, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport cross country teams competed in their second meet of the 2016 season on Saturday morning at the Father Leeber Invitational hosted by Fairfield University. The UB men finished in fourth place on the day, and Purple Knights' women took fifth place, just one point behind Dominican (N.Y.) College in fourth place
For the Purple Knights' women, graduate student, Alina Sotnikova (Riga, Latvia) was the team's top runner finishing the course in a time of 23:20.83, good for 23rd scoring place.
The top finisher for the Bridgeport men was sophomore D'vonne Troumbo (Franklinville, N.J.), who covered course in time of 31:42.15, good for 21st scoring place.
Next Saturday, the UB cross country teams travel to Long Island for the LIU Post Invitational.
