BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The outstanding sophomore season of University of Bridgeport women's wrestler Lindsey Rywolt has reached new heights, as she is now slotted No. 18 nationally at 124 pounds in The Open Mat's most recent rankings. Rywolt was previously ranked No. 20 in the nation in her weight class.
Rywolt has put together a sensational start to her season and UB career, compiling a 19-3 overall record that includes nine pins and 10 technical falls. She set the tone early by going 6-1 and placing fifth at the East Stroudsburg Open to open the year.
Since then, Rywolt has been nearly unstoppable, capturing tournament titles at the Millersville Open, Bridgeport Open and Alfred State Open. She has also proven herself in dual-meet action with victories over Western New England and Norwich.
Rywolt and the rest of UB's women's wrestling team will return to action on Friday with a dual meet at Maine Maritime Academy (6 p.m.).
