Volleyball Downs Caldwell, Heads into CACC Tournament as No. 2 Seed
Purple Knights close regular season with conference record of 9-5.
CALDWELL, N.J. – Playing their final tuneup prior to the start of the postseason, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team enjoyed a four-set win (25-23, 15-25, 25-13, 25-12) at Caldwell on Monday night. The Purple Knights are the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament after posting a conference record of 9-5.
Junior Hailey Jessen turned in another outstanding performance, leading all players with a career-high 26 kills on an impressive .404 hitting percentage, while adding seven digs and a block for a match-high 27.5 points.
Jessen raises her kills-per-set average to 3.59 this season which is tied for second in the CACC. She now has a sensational career kills-per-set of 3.73 across 89 matches played.
Senior Lucia Tomiello added seven kills, two aces, and a block assist, and Analdys Abreu contributed a well-rounded effort with two kills, three aces, and five and a half total points.
Kenyce Johnson matched Abreu with a team-best three aces while Madison Mohan chipped in five kills to Bridgeport's offense.
UB's passing duties were split between freshman Camdyn Cieszkiewicz and sophomore Ava Casales. The duo combined for 42 assists to help guide UB's attack to a .270 hitting clip as a team.
Elaine DeLallo also served as solid contributor for the Purple and White. The junior libero registered a match-best 20 digs to go along with two aces and three assists.
Bridgeport's 15 service aces in the match mark a new season high for the Purple Knights.
