Volleyball Sweeps Holy Family
UB's record improves to 11-8 this season, including 4-2 in the CACC.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Putting together one of their best matches of the year, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team tallied a sweep (25-23, 26-24, 25-17) of Holy Family on Saturday inside Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium. The decisive win puts UB's record at 11-8 this season, including 4-2 in the CACC.
The Purple Knights posted a sharp .330 hitting percentage against the Tigers as they engineered their fifth sweep of the fall.
Hailey Jessen was especially accurate for the Purple and White. The sophomore hit a season-high .500 with 11 kills.
Paola Hernandez joined in with a team-best 15 kills. She hit .364 in the match and is currently ranked second in the CACC in kills per set this season (3.60).
In the middle of UB's offense was once again Jaden Drollinger. The senior setter piled up 39 more assists as she continues to lead the CACC in that category.
Drollinger is currently tops in the conference in both assists per set (9.86) and total assists (720) this season.
UB's attack was also supplemented by seven kills from both Lucia Tomiello and Grace Presswood. Presswood chipped in nine digs as well.
Defensively, Ella Bowman was exceptional. The freshman from Arizona picked up a season-high 17 digs. She has now reached double-digit digs in four straight matches.
