Volleyball Falls to Adelphi, 3-1, in NCAA Rematch

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – In a rematch from last year's NCAA East Regional, the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 26-24, 25-22) contest at Adelphi on Monday night. The loss shifts the Purple Knights' record to 8-6 this season.

Bridgeport was led by a pair of 16-kill efforts from Paola Hernandez and Hailey Jessen. It was a season best for Jessen, who also hit a team-best .297 in the match.

Hernandez, meanwhile, finished with 13 digs to signify her seventh double-double of the season.

Jessen and Hernandez mainly put away assists from Jaden Drollinger. The CACC's leader in that category piled up 47 more on Monday night.

Drollinger also finished the match with 12 digs and three service aces (team high).

Grace Presswood performed well for the Purple and White as well. The sophomore tied Hernandez with a team-best 13 digs.

 As a unit, the Purple Knights hit .232 in the match and totaled seven aces and six blocks.
