Biljana Savic Earns ECC Volleyball Rookie of the Week Honors
This Week's Award Marks The Fifth Time So Far In 2011 That Savic Has Garnered Conference Accolades
Central Islip, N.Y.-For the fifth time this season, University of Bridgeport freshman Biljana Savic (Novi Sad, Serbia) was been selected as the East Coast Conference Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week for her outstanding play in matches from October 10 through October 16, 2011.
Savic averaged 3.8 kills and 2.5 digs per set last week and had a .232 attack percentage as she recorded a double-double in all three matches helping the Purple Knights go 3-0. On the week, she amassed 45 total kills and 30 total digs in three matches. She also had three service aces and five block assists on the week. In a five-set comeback win at Adelphi on Wednesday, Savic had 14 kills and 10 digs. In Thursday's three-set victory over Queens, she recorded a match-high 17 kills with a blistering .441 attack percentage plus she had 10 digs. In Friday's 3-1 win over AIC, Biljana had 14 kills and another 10 dig performance.
