Volleyball Wins In Four Sets At NYIT To Run Winning Streak To Eight
Purple Knights Stay Unbeaten In ECC Play

Masava (Nairobi, Kenya) slammed a match-high 21 kills
to help lead the University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team
to its eighth consecutive victory, as the Purple Knight defeated
the host NYIT Bears, 25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 25-22, in an East Coast
Conference match on Tuesday night. Bridgeport is now 11-1
overall in 2010, and UB remains perfect in conference play at
2-0. NYIT is now 5-7 overall and 0-1 in the ECC.
Masava was joined in double-figure kills at NYIT by graduate
student Agatha
Baliddawa (Jinja, Uganda), who had 10 kills, and she
also added five solos blocks to spark the Bridgeport defense at the
net.
Junior setter Tamara
Leite (Natal, Brazil) directed the Purple Knights'
offense with 38 assists.
UB will look to run its winning streak to nine on Thursday night,
when the team opens ECC play at home with a 7:00 p.m. match in
Hubbell Gym versus Molloy College.
