Women's Track and Field Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Team; Richards Earns Individual Honors
Purple Knights tally team GPA of 3.27 during the 2025-26 school year; Richards pairs 3.62 GPA with outstanding track seasons.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Continuing its tradition of excellence in the classroom, the University of Bridgeport women's track and field squad has been recognized as a United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team for the third consecutive year. Graduate student Fiona Richards also earned individual USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete honors for 2025-26.
The Purple Knights, who had 11 student-athletes appear on the CACC's Academic Honor Roll following the spring semester, finished the 2025-26 school year with a team GPA of 3.27.
To qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
Richards, meanwhile, posted a 3.62 GPA this year while finishing No. 1 in the East Region in the discus during the outdoor season. She also won the New England shot put championship during UB's indoor campaign.
