Track and Field Teams Complete Day One of CACC Outdoor Championships
Purple Knights tally a trio of top-five finishes.
LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Highlighted by a trio of top-five performances, the University of Bridgeport's men's and women's track and field teams completed Day One of the 2026 CACC Outdoor Championships on Friday at Georgian Court.
Women's Highlights
Faith Hershberger headlined UB's opening day at the CACC Championships with a runner-up finish in the pole vault, setting a new school record and collegiate-best mark of 2.52 meters.
Stephanie Lickteig also delivered a strong performance, placing fourth in the 10K while breaking her own program record with a personal-best time of 42:46.23.
The pair accounted for the Purple Knights' scoring efforts on the day, each turning in standout, record-setting performances.
Men's Highlights
Alex Sanchez led the way for UB's men on the opening day of the CACC Championships, placing fifth in the javelin with a throw of 42.20 meters.
He also doubled up on the track, finishing 11th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.29.
The Purple Knights saw their deepest participation in the hammer throw, where Jeremy Choi paced the group with a ninth-place mark of 37.07 meters. Connor Israel followed in 10th (33.33m), while Lucas Reinhardt rounded out the trio with an 11th-place finish at 32.29 meters.
