Women's Swimming and Diving Defeated by Fairfield and Sacred Heart
Purple Knights put together nine top-five performances against nearby DI foes.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In the first of two home meets in less than 24 hours, the University of Bridgeport's women's swimming and diving team dropped matchups to Division I opponents Fairfield and Sacred Heart on Friday.
Freshmen Luca Olsen and Cristal Margarita Gómez Rodriguez led the Purple Knights with a pair of top-five performances.
Olsen paced the UB in the distance events, placing fourth in both the 800-free (9:57.55) and the 400-free (4:47.83).
Gómez Rodriguez continued her strong breaststroke season with a third-place finish in the 50-breast (35.95) and a fourth-place effort in the 100-breast (1:18.39).
Pierina Ferraresi followed Gomez Rodriguez in the 50-breast with a four-place time of 36.43.
Ceyda Genç added a fifth-place performance in the 100-fly, touching in 1:06.97.
Rounding out Bridgeport's top-five efforts, Anna Forlani placed fourth in the 400-IM with a time of 5:21.13.

The Purple Knights will host their final home meet of the season tomorrow morning (10:30 a.m.) against the College of Staten Island.
