Women's Swimming and Diving Edged by Pace in Home Dual Meet
Purple Knights tally seven individual wins and one relay victory.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Competing one final time before the semester break, the University of Bridgeport's women's swimming and diving team dropped a home dual meet to Pace on Saturday by a score of 128-122.
The Purple Knights finished with a total of seven individual victories against the Setters along with a relay win. Sophomore diver Amber Militrano opened the meet with a top score in the one-meter dive with a mark of 109.93.
UB carried that momentum straight into the pool, winning the 200-medley relay behind the quartet of Hazel Clark, Cristal Margarita Gómez Rodriguez, Ceyda Genç and Ania Mrozik in a time of 2:05.90.
Pierina Ferraresi followed with an individual win in the 50-breast, touching the wall first in 35.60.
Genç was a standout throughout the meet, claiming three individual victories. She won the 100-fly in 1:06.73, the 100-free in 1:01.86 and later added another first-place finish in the 50-fly with a time of 30.08.
Gómez Rodriguez also enjoyed a strong showing for the Purple Knights, winning the 100-breast in 1:17.84 before closing the meet with a victory in the 100-IM in 1:11.70.
UB also put forth several second-place finishes with Clark going runner-up in the 50-back (32.16), Luca Olsen touching second in the 100-back (1:11.06) and Ferraresi placing behind Gomez Rodriguez in the 100-breast (1:19.37).

The Purple Knights will be off until 2026 when they take on Wheaton College and Wesleyan University in a tri-meet on Jan. 17.
