Women's Swimming and Diving Falls to a Trio of Division I Foes
Purple Knights earn six top-five finishes against Sacred Heart, Merrimack and Saint Peter's.
MILFORD, Conn. – Competing against a trio of Division I opponents, the University of Bridgeport's women's swimming and diving team recorded seven top-five finishes on Saturday at the McCann Natatorium in Milford. The Purple Knights' results had them dropping dual meets to Sacred Heart University, Merrimack College and Saint Peter's University
Luca Olsen and Cristal Margarita Gómez Rodriguez led the way for the Purple Knights as they both tallied multiple top-five marks on Saturday.
Olsen earned fourth-place results in both the 200-free (2:02.45) and 100-free (56.83) and a fifth-place time in the 500-free (5:35.65) while Gómez Rodriguez tied for fifth in the 100-breast (1:10.66) and secured fourth in the 200-breast (2:35.73).
Patricia Torviso and Hazel Clark also added standout finishes for UB. Torviso earned a fifth-place result in the 1000-free, touching in 11:38.74, while Clark took fourth in the 100-back with a time of 1:02.50.
The Purple Knights' top relay on Saturday was their 200-free squad. UB's team of Olsen, Clark, Ceyda Genç and Emma Nolan placed fourth in a mark of 1:44.67.

The Purple Knights will enjoy their Thanksgiving Break before competing in the ECAC Winter Championships from Dec. 5-7 on Long Island.
