CALDWELL, N.J. – Competing in the CACC Tournament for the fourth straight season, the No. 7-seeded University of Bridgeport women's soccer team dropped a tight 1-0 decision at second-seeded Caldwell (12-2-3) on Saturday in the conference quarterfinals. The loss finishes UB's year with a final record of 4-9-5 (4-5-2, CACC).
The Purple Knights were never able to find an equalizer on Saturday after Caldwell scored off a penalty kick in the 35th minute.
Statistically speaking, it was an incredibly close matchup as UB earned a 10-8 advantage in total shots and both teams tallied one corner apiece.
Bridgeport also posted a 4-2 edge in shots on goal. Caldwell's goalkeeper Ariana Gaminara made four saves in the Cougars' sixth shutout of the season.
With 2025 now complete, sophomore Luiza Macedo finished as the Purple Knights' leader in points this season with 12. She tied Chloe Oudin for the team lead in goals (4) while also dishing out a team-best four assists.
