BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing their final non-conference game of the season, the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 defeat to Saint Anselm College on Wednesday at Knights Field.
Sophomore Manuela Macedo provided the highlight for UB in the 90th minute, finding the back of the net in her first career appearance as a Purple Knight.
Macedo put the finishing touches on a pass from classmate Sharon Vasquez, who notched the assist in her second career game action.
Saint Anselm gained a 2-0 edge courtesy of goals in the 26th and 89th minutes.
UB's goalkeeper Marit Blom turned aside seven shots to keep Bridgeport within striking distance against one of the region's top teams this season.
