BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Taking a brief break from conference play, the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss to Molloy on Wednesday night. The defeat puts the Purple Knights' record at 2-5-3 this season.
Sophomore Luiza Macedo put the Purple Knights on top in the 51st minute when she finished a feed from Keriana Heredia to make it 1-0. Macedo is now UB's leading scorer this season with three tallies.
Bridgeport's advantage stood for nearly 20 minutes before the Lions struck for three unanswered goals in the final 21 minutes of play.
Goalkeeper Sky Hernandez put together a season-best 13 stops in her fifth start of the season. She has now reached double-figure saves in two of those contests.
Bridgeport generated six shots in the contest, including two on goal from Macedo and attempts by Lily Rodriguez and Tara Quinn.
