Women's Soccer Picked Third in 2025 CACC Preseason Coaches Poll
Purple Knights to begin the new campaign on Sept. 5 at SCSU.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – With their 2025 season opener now just 17 days away, the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team was voted third in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's preseason coaches poll released on Tuesday.
The Purple Knights finished fifth in the CACC standings a year ago with a conference mark of 6-5 (7-9-3 overall). Bridgeport's season ultimately closed with a 2-1 overtime loss at fourth-seeded Georgian Court in the CACC quarterfinals.
UB's roster will look much different in 2025 as the program welcomes 17 newcomers. It will be a young squad as well with a total of 21 underclassmen.
Coach Armellino and her team are scheduled to begin the new campaign on Sept. 5 with a road contest at SCSU.
