Griva of Women's Soccer Named CACC Goalkeeper of the Week
Finished with 11 saves during a 0-0 tie at Saint Anselm last week.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – After recording her third clean sheet of the season last Wednesday, sophomore Angelina Griva of the University of Bridgeport's women's soccer team has been selected as the CACC's Goalkeeper of the Week.
Griva, who has allowed just nine goals against this season, was superb during UB's 0-0 draw at Saint Anselm last week. The Greece native racked up a career-high 11 saves across 90 scoreless minutes. Griva now has the second most shutouts in the CACC (3) and ranks third in the league in save percentage (.836).
Griva and the rest of the UB women's soccer team (2-4-3, 1-3, CACC) will return to action tomorrow when they visit Molloy at 7 p.m.
