Purple Knights Check In At Number Three In First NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Regional Rankings Of 2016
UB Set To Host Roberts Wesleyan And Daemen On Friday And Sunday
Indianapolis, Indiana-Along with being ranked number 15 in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, the University of Bridgeport women's soccer team, under the direction of head coach Magnus Nilerud, are slotted at number three in the East Region in the first NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Regional Poll of the 2016 season.
The Purple Knights, who are currently 10-3-0 on the season and winners of seven straight matches, play a pair of home East Coast Conference matches against Roberts Wesleyan on Friday and Daemen on Sunday.
The NCAA Regional Poll will help determine the six teams that will receive bids to the 2016 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer National Championship Tournament in November. The winners of the three conference championship tournaments, the East Coast Conference, the Northeast-10 Conference and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, will receive automatic bids to the NCAA Championship and the other three teams will receive at-large bids based on the regional rankings.
