Idoia Agirre Selected As ECC Women's Soccer Offensive Player Of The Week
Scored Six Goals And Added One Assist In Three Matches Last Week
Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport graduate student Idoia Agirre (Legazpi, Spain) has been selected as this week's East Coast Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for her outstanding play in matches that took place from October 3 through 9, 2016.
Agirre was on fire for the UB offense last week scoring six goals and adding one assist for a total of 13 points. So far in 2016, Idoia leads the Purple Knights in scoring with 10 goals and three assists for 23 points.
She began play last week with two goals and one assist in a 4-0 home win over Assumption College on Monday, and Agirre followed that up by scoring all three of her team's goals in a 3-0 victory at Wilmington (Del.) University on Thursday. Idoia closed out the week with the game-winning goal in a 2-0 victory at NYIT on Saturday.
This week, the UB women's soccer team will host St. Thomas on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. and Molloy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
