UB Women's Soccer Moves Up One Spot To Number Three In First NSCAA National Poll Of 2016 Season
Purple Knights Head Into Wednesday Night's Match At Adelphi With a 2-0 Season Mark
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team, under the direction of eighteenth-year head coach Magnus Nilerud, has moved up one spot to number three in the nation from its preseason ranking of number four in the first National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Poll of the 2016 season.
The UB women's soccer program opened its 2016 season with a pair of wins at the Southern Connecticut State University Women's Soccer Classic topping American International College, 1-0, on Friday, and the host Owls, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon.
This week, the Purple Knights will travel to Adelphi University on Wednesday evening for a regional showdown with the number 11 ranked Panthers. The contest is also a rematch of last season's NCAA East Regional Championship match which UB won 2-1.
