Three UB Student-Athletes Earn Weekly East Coast Conference Honors
Velaj and Bjarnadottir from women's soccer, plus volleyball's Baliddawa-Mukisa earn ECC accolades.

University of Bridgeport student-athletes have earned weekly
recognition from the East Coast Conference.
In women's soccer, two players earned ECC accolades, as senior
Linda
Velaj (Stamford, Conn.) was named Co-Offensive Player
of the Week and freshman Berglind
Bjarnadottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) was selected as the
conference's Rookie of the Week. Velaj, who earned her second
ECC honor of 2010, had seven points on the week, as she netted a
hat trick and added an assist against Bentley in a 5-0 Bridgeport
win. Bjarnadottir tallied a goal in each of the Purple
Knights' contests last week.
In volleyball, graduate student Agatha
Baliddawa-Mukisa (Jinja, Uganda) was named Player of the
Week after averaging 3.4 kills per set with an impressive .474
attack percentage in three Bridgeport victories last week.
This week's honor is the third time this season that Agatha has
received ECC Player of the Week recognition.
