UB Women's Soccer Ranked Number 18 In NSCAA Pre-Season Poll
Defending ECC Champs Look For 4th Straight NCAA Trip in 2010

Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's soccer team is ranked number 18 in the country by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) in that organization's NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Pre-Season National Poll. The 2009 East Coast Conference champions, the Purple Knights made their third consecutive trip to the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament last season.
In 2009, UB finished the season with a 16-2-3 overall record,
and the Purple Knights were ranked number 20 in the final NSCAA
Division II Women's Soccer Poll of the year.
This season the UB women's soccer team will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary season of the program, and the Purple Knights, led by Magnus Nilerud, who begins his twelfth season as his alma mater's head coach, will open their 2010 schedule at 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 2 at American International College in Springfield, Mass. The Purple Knights will open their home slate on Tuesday, September 7 against St. Anselm College. Game time is 6:00 pm.
