BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Playing their final home game of the 2026 season, the University of Bridgeport's women's lacrosse team was defeated by Jefferson on Saturday afternoon by score of 14-6. The defeat shifts the Purple Knights' overall record to 7-5 this season, including 4-3 in the CACC.
Jefferson seized control early, outscoring the Purple Knights 7-1 in the opening period before adding four more goals in the second to take an 11-1 lead into halftime.
Bridgeport regrouped after the break and showed significant improvement, outscoring Jefferson 5-3 over the final 30 minutes, including a four-goal fourth quarter push.
Tara Dimaio led the Purple Knights' offensive effort with a team-best four points on three goals and an assist, while also contributing a team-high three caused turnovers along with two ground balls and two draw controls.
Dani Strong added a pair of goals and controlled the draw with a team-best four, while Emily Stuart matched that total with four draw controls of her own to go along with two assists.
Payton Noack also contributed with a goal and an assist in the setback.
As a team, Bridgeport held a 12-9 edge in draw controls and finished nearly even in ground balls (18-19), helping fuel the second-half surge.
