Senior Gabrielle Valela Earns A Spot On The ECC W. Lax Honor Roll
Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport junior Megan Carney (Norwalk, Conn.) has been selected this week's East Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week for her outstanding plat in games from March 2 through 8, 2015.
Carney stood tall for the Purple Knights in UB's 12-10 season opening win at Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday, as she made 11 saves and blanked the host Redhawks in extra time to help give her team the victory
UB senior Gabrielle Valela (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) earned a spot on this week's ECC Women's Lacrosse Honor Roll, as she helped lead UB to 12-10 season-opening win at Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday netting a team-high four goals and dishing off one assist. Valela also recorded three draw controls, had two ground balls and cause one turnover.
This week, the University of Bridgeport women's lacrosse team will host Caldwell on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. and Queens (N.Y.) College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
