Gymnastics' Kenney Earns Second Straight CSC Academic All-America Selection
Voted to At-Large Second Team after being named to the Third Team in 2025.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Capping off one of the most decorated careers in University of Bridgeport athletics history, senior Abby Kenney of the Purple Knights gymnastics team was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team on Tuesday.
After earning Third Team honors a year ago, Kenney closes her collegiate career with a second consecutive CSC Academic All-America selection while finishing with a stellar 3.78 cumulative GPA.
Her sensational 2026 campaign was highlighted by being named the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Division II Gymnast of the Year for the second straight season. Kenney also earned WCGA First Team Regular Season All-America honors in the all-around, collected WCGNIC All-America accolades on both bars and vault, captured the Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) all-around championship and was named All-GEC in all four events as well as the all-around.
A two-time GEC Gymnast of the Week during the season, she also finished the year with Division II's highest National Qualifying Score (NQS) in the all-around at 38.970.
Over the course of her remarkable Purple Knights career, Kenney compiled an extraordinary list of accomplishments both in the classroom and in competition. In addition to becoming a two-time CSC Academic All-American, she was selected as a CSC Academic All-District performer three times and earned GEC Scholar-Athlete honors in each of her four seasons. She is also a three-time WCGA Scholastic All-American.
Kenney's athletic accolades during her UB tenure were equally impressive. She was a two-time WCGA Division II Gymnast of the Year, a 10-time All-American and a 14-time All-GEC selection, cementing her legacy as one of the finest student-athletes in program history.
