Staruk of Gymnastics Finishes Historic Year at NCAA Regionals
Earned a 9.800 on vault at the Historic Memorial Coliseum at the University of Kentucky.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Capping a remarkable and historic 2026 campaign, junior Nova Staruk of the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team represented the Purple Knights on the national stage at the NCAA Regionals on Friday.
Competing inside Historic Memorial Coliseum on the campus of the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Staruk went head-to-head with some of the top Division I gymnasts in the country as a vault specialist.
Staruk delivered a strong performance, posting a score of 9.800. The Massachusetts native showed impressive consistency throughout the season, finishing the year with nine scores of 9.800 or better on vault.
Her NCAA appearance served as the culmination of a sensational season that saw Staruk earn Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) Specialist of the Year honors, along with a pair of All-America accolades.
Staruk was named a first-team All-American at the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championship (WCGNIC) and garnered second-team WCGA Regular Season All-America recognition.
Staruk closes out the 2026 season with an outstanding National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 9.835, cementing her place among the nation's top Division II vaulters.
