Gymnastics Earns Season’s Second-Highest Mark at Brown Quad Meet
Purple Knights' team score of 194.025 finishes ahead of both LIU and SCSU.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Competing in their final road meet of the regular season, the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics squad posted a team score of 194.025 on Sunday to finish second at Brown's quad meet. The Purple Knights' second highest mark of the season eclipsed both SCSU and LIU while the host Bears notched a meet-best 194.825.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
Senior Abby Kenney delivered another standout performance to lead the Purple Knights on Sunday, capturing the all-around title with a score of 39.125.
Kenney excelled in the individual events, winning the bars with a career-high 9.850 and placing second on beam with a season-best 9.850.
Rian Thompkins added a tie for fifth on beam with a 9.725, while Xiomara Jennings finished tied for seventh with a 9.700.
On floor, Kenney placed fifth with a 9.800, while Tamyra Singletary and Samantha Krenzel tied for 13th with matching scores of 9.675.
The Purple Knights were also strong on vault, where Nova Staruk captured the event title with a 9.800. Brooklyn Weingardt tied for eighth with a 9.675, followed by Lena Coxon who tied for 11th with a 9.650.
UB closed the meet on bars where Kenney once again led the way with her career-best routine. Samantha Nokes added a strong showing with a tie for third and a 9.800 (season high), while Emily Hernandez finished ninth with a 9.725 (season high).

The Purple Knights will celebrate Senior Day next Sunday (March 15) with a home tri-meet against SCSU and Yale (2 p.m.).
