Season High on Floor Leads Gymnastics Past West Chester in Home Dual Meet
Purple Knights post their second highest score of the season (192.225).
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Catapulted by a season-best score on floor to close out the meet, the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team earned a 192.225-191.025 win over West Chester on Saturday inside the Wheeler Recreation Center. The Purple Knights once again performed well at home, finishing with their second highest team score of the year.

Individual Highlights
UB opened the day on vault, where Abby Kenney claimed the event title with a 9.800 to lead the Purple Knights. Nova Staruk followed closely behind in second with a 9.750, while Lena Coxon added a tied-for-third finish after posting a career-high score of 9.700.
On bars, Emily Hernandez delivered a steady routine to place second with a 9.600, as Kenney continued her productive day with a fourth-place score of 9.550. Nicole Pujals rounded out the top finishers for Bridgeport on bars by tying for fifth with a 9.525.
The Purple Knights maintained their momentum on beam, led by Molly McAleavey's third-place effort of 9.650. Xiomara Jennings followed in fourth with a 9.625, while Samantha Krenzel placed fifth after recording a 9.600.
Bridgeport closed the meet in impressive fashion on floor, where Kenney and Maggie Coyle both captured a share of first place with matching 9.875 scores. Both routines marked career highs for the duo.
Staruk also turned in a strong performance on floor, tying for third with a 9.825 to match her own career best.
When the dust settled, Kenney's superb afternoon put her as the all-around champion with a final score of 38.500.
