Gymnastics Wins Home Quad Over Brown, LIU and Springfield
Purple Knights' 194.050 is their highest team score since March 17, 2024.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Making the most of their 2026 home debut, the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team won a quad meet over Brown, LIU and Springfield on Saturday night inside the Wheeler Recreation Center. The Purple Knights put together a mark of 194.050, their highest team score since March 17, 2024.

Individual Highlights
The Purple Knights piled up 12 top-five finishes and seven podium performances in their first home meet of the season.
Senior Abby Kenney anchored the effort with a dominant all-around victory, capturing first place with a score of 39.150 (tied career high). Kenney was especially superb on bars, claiming the event title with a 9.775, while adding a trio of additional top-five results across the meet.
Nova Staruk provided another highlight by winning the vault with a stellar 9.850, while Kenney followed closely behind in second with a 9.775 to give the Purple Knights a 1-2 finish in the event.
Bars proved to be a strength for UB as well, as Samantha Nokes and Nicole Pujals tied for third with matching 9.725s, and Delphine Desjardins added a tie for fifth (9.700) to round out a deep showing.
On beam, Kenney and Rian Thompkins each earned top-five honors by tying for fifth with identical scores of 9.775. Thompkins' performance was out of the exhibition spot.
The Purple Knights closed strong on floor, where Staruk and Kenney tied for second with matching 9.825s.
Tamyra Singletary added another quality result by tying for fourth on floor with a 9.800, capping off a well-rounded team performance.

The Purple Knights will travel to Philadelphia to take on Penn next Sunday (Feb. 1) at 2 p.m.
