Gymnastics Starts 2026 at Cornell Tri-Meet With Penn
Purple Knights post a team score of 188.700.
ITHACA, N.Y. – Making their 2026 season debut, the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team posted a score of 188.700 in a tri-meet at Cornell on Sunday. The University of Pennsylvania notched the high mark of the day with a 194.850.

INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
The Purple Knights were led on Sunday by another terrific performance from senior Abby Kenney, who captured the all-around title with a score of 38.700.
Kenney highlighted her day by tying for the top mark on both beam (9.750) and bars (9.825), while also adding a strong seventh-place finish on vault with a 9.725.
Speaking of vault, junior Nova Staruk led the way courtesy of a third-place score of 9.775 to lead the Purple Knights in the event.
UB showed depth on bars, where senior Samantha Nokes earned a fourth-place finish with a 9.775 and sophomore Nicole Pujals followed close behind in seventh with a 9.750.
Senior Brooklyn Weingardt represented UB well on the balance beam with a solid ninth-place effort, scoring a 9.625.
Junior Emily Turner paced the Purple Knights on floor by placing 11th with a 9.575.
UP NEXT
The Purple Knights will compete in a quad meet at New Hampshire next Sunday (Jan. 18). Iowa State and Air Force will also be in attendance for the 2 p.m. start.
