BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Currently amid an outstanding senior campaign, Olivia Imbarlina of the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team has been selected as a nominee for the 2025 AAI Award. The AAI Award is presented to the most outstanding collegiate senior female gymnast in the country, widely considered the Heisman Trophy of women's gymnastics.
Imbarlina, a three-year team captain, has been one of UB's top performers since she stepped onto campus in 2021. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native is a three-time USAG individual qualifier who placed fourth on beam at the 2022 championship meet (9.825).
Imbarlina is also a two-time Gymnastics East Conference second-team honoree and finished third in the all-around at GEC's as a sophomore. This season, Imbarlina already matched her career-best score on beam (9.850) while currently averaging a mark of 9.700 across nine meets.
Academically, Imbarlina has been equally spectacular. She is a 2024 WCGA Scholastic All-American while being recognized three times as a GEC Scholar Athlete. Imbarlina was also honored with a D2ADA Academic Achievement Award following the 2023-24 school year.
