Two Purple Knights Selected For Weekly Corvais ECAC Division II Women's Gymnastics Awards
Sasha Tsikhanovich And Caitlin Perry Recognized For Their Outstanding Performance At Brown University Last Saturday
Danbury, Conn.-For the second straight week, two University of Bridgeport women's gymnasts have earned weekly Corvais ECAC Division II Women's Gymnastics Awards for their outstanding performances in the team's lone meet last week that took place at Brown University on Saturday evening. Senior Sasha Tsikhanovich (Marysville, Ohio) has been selected as the Co-Gymnast of the Week along with Majesta Valentine of West Chester University, and classmate Caitlin Perry (N. Kingston, R.I.) has been named as the Specialist of the Week.
Tsikhanovich took second in Saturday's all-around competition with a total score of 38.475 in the four events, as she took first place in the floor exercise 9.975, a school record) and was second on the beam (9.700) and the bars (9.7.00). Sasha has finished second in the all-around in both of UB's meets so far in 2015.
Perry took second place in Saturday's floor exercise with a score of 9.875.
This week, the UB women's gymnastics team is back in action at Yale University for a quad meet on Saturday, January 24.
