National Champion Gymnastics Team To Be Recognized By Bridgeport City Council Tonight, May 6th at 6:45 p.m.
Purple Knights Will Be Honored For Their Fifth Straight USAG National Collegiate Team Title

Bridgeport, Conn.-Today, Monday, May 6, 2013, the Bridgeport City Council will honor the 2013 University of Bridgeport women's gymnastics team which won its fifth straight USA Gymnastics Collegiate Team National Championship in April plus become only the second Division II institution to qualify in history for the NCAA Gymnastics Team National Championship. The team will be recognized by the City Council with a special citation at approximately 6:45 prior to its regularly scheduled meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 45 Lyon Terrace in Bridgeport. The team will also be recognized by the State of Connecticut as State Senator Andres Ayala will present the champion Purple Knights with a citation from Hartford.
