PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Playing in the CACC Quarterfinals for the second time in three seasons, the eighth-seeded University of Bridgeport women's basketball team was defeated at top-seeded Holy Family on Tuesday night by a score of 67-32. UB wraps up the year with an overall record of 10-16.
A decisive second quarter proved to be the difference, as the Tigers used a 30-3 run in the frame to turn a five-point game after the first quarter into a commanding halftime lead.
Sophomore Zahkiyyah Frazier paced the Purple Knights with team-highs of nine points and 14 rebounds, marking the 13th time this season she has grabbed double-digit boards.
Frazier concludes the year ranked third in the CACC in rebounds per game (9.6).
Niyah Whitten followed with eight points, while Savannah Prescott added seven points along with six rebounds and team-highs in both assists (3) and steals (3).
Bridgeport struggled offensively throughout the contest, shooting 19.4 percent from the field as Holy Family pulled away for the victory.
