MIDDLEBURY, Conn. – Coming off two straight conference wins, the University of Bridgeport's women's basketball team was halted at Post on Wednesday night courtesy of a 60-44 defeat at the Drubner Center. The loss shifts the Purple Knights' record to 8-8 overall this season and 6-6 in the CACC.
After trading baskets early, the Purple Knights found themselves trailing 35-27 at the half before Post used a 19–6 advantage in the third quarter to seize full control of the contest.
Sophomore Zahkiyyah Frazier led UB with a strong all-around effort, posting a team-high 13 points and 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season while also playing all 40 minutes.
Nicole Benini ranked second on the Purple Knights with seven points and nine rebounds, while Savannah Prescott chipped in six points and a team-best three assists.
Junior Isabella Edwards also put forth six points while Jaelyn Choi led Bridgeport with three steals.
Despite the loss, Bridgeport controlled the glass, outrebounding Post 45-25 and scoring 15 second-chance points. However, turnovers proved costly, as Post converted 42 points off UB miscues to offset the Purple Knights' rebounding edge.
