MANCHESTER, N.H. – Following their first CACC victory of the season on Tuesday night, the University of Bridgeport's women's basketball team dropped a non-conference game at SNHU on Sunday by a score of 71-38. The loss puts the Purple Knights' record at 2-2 this season.
UB was led by a nine-point, nine-rebound stat line from sophomore Zahkiyyah Frazier while Karolina Andersson hauled in a team-best 13 boards.
Frazier, who also registered four steals (team high) on Sunday, is now averaging 9.8 points and 12.8 rebounds per game. She ranks second in the CACC in rebounding this season.
UB's bench contributed 21 points, highlighted by seven from Laia Albas and five from India Lee, who knocked down the team's lone free throws of the day.
Defensively, Bridgeport forced 16 SNHU turnovers and limited the Penmen to just four second-chance points, but Southern New Hampshire countered with 47.3% shooting overall and a 19–5 advantage in assists to pull away over the final three quarters.
Offensively, the Purple Knights shot 15-of-74 (20.2%) from the field, including a 5-for-35 effort (14.3%) from three-point range.
